Pee Mak Phra Khanong, the Highest Grossing Film in Asia

Mario Maurer as Mak, Davika Hoorne as Nak, Kantapat Permpoonpatcharasuk as Aey, Nuttapong Chartpong as Ter, Wiwat Kongrasri as Shin and Pongsathorn Jongwilak as Puak gave life to the highest grossing film in Asia, Pee Mak Phra Khanong.

Earning more than a billion baht ($33 million dollars) in revenue all over the world, the movie Pee Mak became a block buster hit. The story is an adaptation of an old Thai folklore Mae Nak Phra Khanong. Stories say a wife haunts a town and bewitches her husband to think that she is still alive.


The story of the ghost has been a subject on various films, TV series and printed media and the representations of the story in a somewhat humorous manner is common in Thai comic books and animated cartoons.
